Rangers at the Park are hoping that this arrival will encourage local photographers to visit, view the exhibition and be inspired to spend some time with their cameras capturing the Park’s own rich and varied wildlife.
Owned by the Natural History Museum and BBC Wildlife Magazine, the annual competition is the most prestigious of its kind and this year is proudly sponsored by Veolia Environnement, the parent company of Veolia Environmental Services which operates waste management services across Hampshire, including the landfill site at Verwood.

This year, visitors can take their inspiration from one local entrant whose award-winning image will be on display at Moors Valley for the first time. Winchester-based Paul Sansome’s image of Terns in a Dive Queue was selected from over 43,000 entries from 94 countries to receive a Highly Commended award. His image joins all the winning, runner-up and commended photographs in a stunning visual display that opened at Moors Valley on 23 January before touring the UK.
