Avon Tyrrell get 'Pro-Growing' with help from Veolia

The Avon Tyrrell Activity Centre in the New Forest is the latest organisation to get a helping hand from Veolia Environmental Services, following a donation of Pro-Grow.

Avon Tyrrell is the UK Youth Charity’s outdoor centre, which provides 65 acres of space for adventure and environmental activities for young people.  Over one million have benefited from the opportunities there to develop their full potential.

Pro-Grow, an organic soil conditioner made from recycled garden waste, has been used at Avon Tyrrell to create their Big Eco Garden over the winter. The seedlings have started to develop and the young people visiting the centre are involved in keeping the plants watered and healthy.

Veolia donated the Pro-Grow to Avon Tyrrell to support their valuable programme for young people.  The waste management company is a strong supporter of local communities and is recognised for the positive impact that it makes.

Projects Director for Veolia Environmental Services in Hampshire, Richard Johnson, said: “We’re proud to support this local project with a practical donation for the benefit of young people.  At Veolia we know it’s important to invest in the future and Avon Tyrrell makes a real difference to the lives of young people who are our future.”

Director of Fundraising and Special Projects for UK Youth at Avon Tyrrell, Louis Bonney, continued: “We are keen to develop our Eco garden, because it helps the young people who visit us to learn about the value of our environment.  We’d like to thank Veolia for this contribution, which is helping us to enable young people to realise their potential.”
